Director, Private Capital (Business Development & Investor Management)

About the position
The Director, Private Capital has a pivotal role focused on developing and managing relationships with family offices, high net worth (HNW), and ultra-high net worth (UHNW) investors to drive capital growth. Reporting to the Head of Private Capital, this position will identify and secure new investors, deepen relationships with existing investors, and contribute to growing funds under management in niche markets.
Location: Melbourne or Sydney
Key responsibilities
Business Development & Capital Raising
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to build a portfolio of private clients and investor prospects.
- Identify and cultivate new investor relationships with a focus on wholesale markets, both domestically and internationally.
- Present and pitch product offerings to potential investors, converting opportunities into committed investment mandates.
- Actively contribute to enhancing the company’s brand visibility and presence in key markets.
Client Relationship Management
- Strengthen relationships with existing investors, ensuring a high level of engagement and satisfaction.
- Leverage marketing campaigns, events, and conferences to foster deeper connections with investors.
- Understand investor needs and provide input on new product ideas to meet market demands.
- Champion process improvements to enhance the overall investor experience.
Operational & Strategic Support
- Manage and maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipelines, and investor interactions using tracking tools.
- Provide analysis and feedback on market trends, investor preferences, and product performance.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align business development efforts with company goals.
What you’ll bring to the role
- Degree qualified with 10+ years in investment management or private capital, with a strong network among Family Offices, HNW, and UHNW investors.
- Background in real estate, private credit, or portfolio analysis, with proven success in capital raising and managing investor portfolios.
- A proven track record of building and nurturing profitable client relationships.
- Exceptional communication, organisational, and analytical abilities to manage competing priorities and influence key stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and committed to exceeding client expectations. A strategic thinker who thrives in dynamic environments.
