About the position
The Senior Financial Accountant is key in overseeing all accounting, taxation, compliance, and regulatory functions at Qualitas. This role ensures accurate, timely, high-quality financial management and statutory reporting.

Employment type: 12-month contract
Key responsibilities
Financial management and reporting
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including those of fund manager entities, and consolidate financial data for entities within Qualitas.
- Oversee monthly bank reconciliations for accuracy and timeliness.
- Reviewing weekly batch payments and staff reimbursements, ensuring correct general ledger coding.
- Compiling and reviewing the recoverable cost workbook from Funds in coordination with the Fund Accounting team.
- Preparing monthly CFO reporting packs for the Executive Team and Board, including KPI analysis, budget variance, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasting.
Compliance and regulatory
- Managing regulatory obligations, including TFN applications, BAS returns, payroll tax, FBT, and income tax returns.
- Lead external audit processes and prepare statutory financial statements for half and full-year reporting.
- Ensuring compliance with Australian financial reporting and tax regulations.
- Preparing quarterly checklists and cash flow reports.
Treasury and cash management
- Overseeing daily cash management and preparing weekly cash movement reports for the Executive Team.
- Providing financial insights and recommendations to optimise treasury functions.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- CA/CPA qualified with tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of relevant experience, preferably in funds management, private equity, construction, or property development.
- Prior experience at a Big Four accounting firm, mid-tier accounting firm or an ASX-listed company is advantageous.
- Strong technical accounting expertise with a deep understanding of Australian Accounting Standards.
- Experience in management accounting, statutory reporting, and general ledger management.
