MEDIA RELEASE: Berrick Wilson joins Qualitas as Co-Head of Real Estate Equity, Australia

14 August 2024

Leading Australian alternative real estate investment manager Qualitas Limited (ASX: QAL) announced today that Berrick Wilson has joined the firm as Co-Head of Real Estate Equity, Australia. Mr Wilson will serve as Co-Head alongside Henry Vuu and will also lead the Tactical Opportunities equity investment strategy.

Mr Wilson brings over 30 years of experience to Qualitas, most recently as a Partner in KordaMentha’s real estate business, which he co-founded. From his previous roles he brings a broad range of experience in property, with a strong background in development management, asset management and investment advisory.

“This is a significant appointment for the firm, and we are fortunate to have someone of Berrick’s calibre joining the business,” said Mark Fischer, Global Head of Real Estate and Co-Founder of Qualitas. “Berrick is a market leading real estate professional and his expertise in complex real estate transactions is something we intend to leverage as part of our increased focus on new investments in our Tactical and Opportunistic strategies.  We expect the ongoing market dislocation and asset value recalibration to generate significant investment opportunity for our tactical and opportunistic equity strategies, where Berrick’s skillset will help drive investor outcomes.”

“I am delighted to join Qualitas at a time of growth and opportunity and in an environment conducive to the expansion of our Australian equity platform,” said Mr Wilson. “Qualitas has a strong and tenured reputation in Australia’s commercial real estate market investing across equity and credit, which is an exciting proposition for someone with my experience. I’m looking forward to serving alongside Henry Vuu as Co-Head, leveraging the unique ability of our investment platform to provide scalable advantage and capture future opportunities to help accelerate our tactical and opportunistic strategies.”

The Qualitas Australian real estate equity platform manages $1.60 billion in funds under management as of 31 March 2024. The platform includes opportunistic, tactical and core equity strategies as well as the firm’s investment in the GQ Multifamily residential platform.
